Toddle Set to Secure $15-18 Million Funding

SUMMARY

  • Edtech SaaS startup Toddle is in talks to raise $15-18 million from investors, including GSV Ventures and existing backers.
  • Founded in 2019, Toddle provides a learning platform for over 2,000 IB and progressive curriculum schools globally.
  • The company expects a post-money valuation around $100 million, with rising revenues but notable operational losses.

Edtech SaaS platform Toddle, which supports independent schools with International Baccalaureate (IB) and progressive curricula, is in discussions to raise a fresh round of $15-18 million. According to sources familiar with the development, GSV Ventures is expected to co-lead this funding round, with active participation from existing investors such as Peak XV, Tenacity Ventures, Matrix Partners (rebranded as Z47), and other notable backers. A U.S.-based micro-VC firm may also join the round.

Toddle’s last significant funding event was a $17 million Series A round led by Peak XV in January 2023, which valued the company at approximately $100 million post-money. Co-founded in 2019 by Deepanshu Arora, Gautam Arora, Misbah Jafary, Nikhil Poonawala, and Parita Parekh, Toddle’s platform currently serves over 2,000 schools across more than 100 countries, including prominent markets like the U.S., U.K., Australia, China, and the UAE.

In FY 2023, Toddle reported a 72% increase in revenue, reaching Rs 32.35 crore. However, this growth came with increased expenses, as operational losses grew from Rs 19.45 crore to Rs 40.7 crore. Despite its losses, Toddle remains optimistic about expanding its platform and solidifying its place in the competitive edtech SaaS landscape, which includes rivals like Classplus, Teachmint, and Unacademy’s Graphy.

The edtech sector, which saw a decline in investments post-pandemic, is making a comeback, with funding slowly picking up again. Toddle’s anticipated funding marks one of several recent large deals, including PhysicsWallah’s $210 million raise and Eruditus securing $150 million. As per TheKredible, edtech startups in India have raised $613 million across 37 deals in 2024, surpassing 2023’s total of $456 million but still far from the highs of 2021.
