Samay Kohli, Co-founder of robotics firm GreyOrange, has raised $4.2 million (₹35.3 crore) in a pre-seed funding round for his AI chatbot, Budy. The fundraising round was led by RTP Global. The company intends to enhance training and development of its core AI capabilities with the fresh capital.
Along with a number of other angel investors, including Raju Reddy, Abhinav Asthana; CEO and Co-founder of Postman, John Hayes; Co-founder of Pure Storage, Bruno Kurtic; Co-founder of Sumo Logic, and former executives of GreyOrange, the round was also attended by BeeNext, The Neon Fund, and BITS SPARK Angels.
As per Inc42, Samamy Kohli told them, since Budy’s solution is scalable and relevant to worldwide markets, the initial concentration will be on North America. The platform optimizes the deployment and management of sales and marketing software ecosystems, addressing a global concern faced by organizations globally. He stated, “Our mission with Budy is clear—we want to solve the growing complexity of sales and marketing software deployment. Using AI we can finally start using the software packages we already have better rather than installing new ones on top of them. With Budy, we’re confident we can help companies get much more out of their sales & marketing budgets in a way that no other platform has.”
Samay Kohli-led Budy was founded in 2024 with the goal of making it easier for businesses to deploy and manage their sales and marketing software stacks. The organization asserts that it is purpose-driven, focusing on attaining end goals and measurable business results, in contrast to traditional techniques that just address software deployment.
As part of its design partnership, the startup is currently working with a small number of enterprise customers to address high-impact use cases. These use cases include updating the sales force to reflect the company’s current stage while preserving data, boosting lead conversion rates by finding and fixing leaks in the sales and marketing pipeline, and boosting revenue and cash forecasting by implementing a bottom-up forecasting model.
