DTDC Launches Drone Deliveries in Partnership with Skye Air Mobility

DTDC Express Ltd has marked its 35th anniversary by launching a new drone-based delivery service. This innovative step is the result of a strategic partnership with Skye Air Mobility, aimed at revolutionizing last-mile delivery with cutting-edge technology.

The inaugural drone delivery took place from Bilaspur to Gurgaon Sector 92, covering a distance of 7.5 km in just 3-4 minutes, compared to the usual 15-minute road route. This initiative is part of DTDC’s commitment to integrating advanced technology and setting new industry standards.

DTDC, with a robust network of over 16,000 channel partners serving nearly 96% of the Indian population, handles approximately 155 million parcels annually. The introduction of drone deliveries is expected to streamline operations, enhance delivery speed, and reduce carbon emissions and traffic congestion.

Following the successful launch in Gurgaon, DTDC plans to expand its drone delivery services to additional key locations across India. The next phase will focus on identifying regions where drone deliveries can have the most significant impact.
