CHOSEN, a Chennai-based skincare startup, has successfully raised $1.2 million in its seed round from friends and family. This funding round follows an equity-free grant of $100,000 from Peak XV Partners, awarded as part of the SPARK program for women entrepreneurs.
The newly acquired funds will be utilized to expand CHOSEN’s headcount and enhance its supply chain capabilities, positioning the company for substantial growth. Dr. Renita Rajan, a cosmetic dermatologist, founded CHOSEN with a vision to develop innovative skin care products through patents and advanced technology formulations. The startup is also exploring IoT-led skincare solutions, further solidifying its commitment to innovation.
Earlier this year, CHOSEN was featured in Peak XV’s cohort of women-led startups, which provided the $100,000 grant. Over the past four years, CHOSEN claims to have established a multi-channel ecosystem of highly active cosmetic products tailored specifically for Indian skin types. Currently, the company offers 34 SKUs, with 12 additional products in the pipeline and several more slated for launch within the next 18 months.
Dr. Renita Rajan, founder and CEO of CHOSEN, stated, “This funding is a significant milestone for us. It will enable us to scale our operations, enhance our product offerings, and continue our mission to provide innovative skincare solutions for Indian consumers.”
CHOSEN is projecting a two-fold increase in scale this fiscal year, reflecting its ambitious growth plans and strong market demand for its products. With this funding, CHOSEN is poised to strengthen its position in the skincare industry and continue delivering high-quality, effective solutions to its customers.
