Consumer-focused early-stage venture capital firm Sauce.vc has announced the launch of its third fund, aiming to raise Rs 250 crore. This development follows the recent clearance from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi), as reported by ET.
Sauce.vc, based in New Delhi, specializes in investing in new-age consumer brands and platforms at pre-revenue or idea stages. Since its inception, the firm has invested in 21 companies through its two previous funds launched in 2019 and 2021.
The first fund, launched in 2019, had a target corpus of Rs 60 crore. This was followed by a second fund in 2021, which had a fund size of Rs 158 crore. More recently, Sauce.vc closed its Sauce Continuity Fund with a corpus of Rs 263 crore.
From the continuity fund, Sauce.vc has already invested in notable brands such as XYXX, The Whole Truth Foods, Mokobara, Innovist, and Supertails. The firm also plans to extend its investments to oral care brand Perfora, ice cream brand Hocco, and energy drink Rockit.
The strategic focus of Sauce.vc on emerging consumer brands underscores its commitment to fostering innovation and supporting early-stage ventures in the consumer sector. As it launches its third fund, the firm continues to strengthen its portfolio and support the growth of promising startups.
