Ways you could die in the future- just imagine!

Death is not the opposite of life, but a part of it.

The above-mentioned idea was that of a famous writer Haruki Murakami and he is pretty much right. Then just like every part of our life, don’t we often spend time thinking of death?

How often have you spent worrying about a car accident? Or dying in the fire? Or homicide? What about cancer or drowning? These are a few of the most common ways people worry they’d die.

Well, here we bring you something different to think from the regular. From the way society is changing and the goals we are pursuing, people in the future could be dying in ways very different from the people today die.

In fact, it’s also possible that people in the future could outlive the present average life span of human beings by a big margin.

So what do you think could be the different ways people could die in the future? Well, we came up with some possible ideas and to make it fun, we have turned them into little stories of possible situations you could face….

Ebullism- in simple terms, you’ll boil to death from within because your space suit is off-brand

Yeah, not kidding! Suppose you decided you want to take a quick, fun tour of the space just like that rich friend of yours did- but you aren’t that rich.

So what do you do? You go on to buy a budget-friendly, cheap space suit and finally you’re in space, living your dream.

Now that you’re finally in space, you see there are so many pieces of shrapnel, debris and space junk going around the earth at a great speed. One of these may have ruptured your cheap space suit at some point.

Now what?

Breathing during sudden decompression in the vacuum of space could rupture your lungs.

What else?

The boiling point of your body fluids lowers due to reduced pressure – this is what we call ebullism.

What happens during ebullism? Well, the water inside your body turns to vapor which causes swelling and bruising while you gasp for air. Ultimately, it’ll block the blood from getting to your heart and lungs.

And yes, ebullism is a very real condition. A 24-year old NASA tech in 1966, who recalled the sensation of saliva boiling off his tongue before losing consciousness, survived it!

You might not be that lucky though. You could die within two minutes!

Killed by a sex robot

It seems like a good idea to have a sex robot for people who are lonely but did you know that many experts believe that sex robots could really kill you someday?

Given the fact that these bots can be so easily corrupted by humans, the possibility is very high.

Cybersecurity experts believe that the more advanced these bots get, the bigger will be a threat that they pose to the humans deriving pleasure from these sexbots.

“Often these robots can be upwards of 200 pounds, and very strong. Once a robot is hacked, the hacker has full control and can issue instructions to the robot,” said Nick Paterson, a cybersecurity lecturer at Deakin University in Australia.

Well, well now! Wouldn’t that be the best way of ascending to heaven- getting asphyxiated while having sex with a hacked robot? Pun intended!

Someone just unplugged the simulation and now you no longer exist

Yes, this could be true as well. This theory proposed by Nick Bostrom published back in 2003, which assumes we might be living in a simulated reality.

He suggested that members of an advanced civilization with enormous computing power might decide to run simulations of their ancestors.

They would probably have the ability to run many, many such simulations, to the point where the vast majority of minds would actually be artificial ones within such simulations, rather than the original ancestral minds.

So simple statistics suggest it is much more likely that we are among the simulated minds.

You got killed by a resurrected, woolly mammoth in a futuristic zoo

Geneticist George of Harvard and his team have made some progress in their mission of de-extinction of a woolly mammoth in 2015.

Church’s team had successfully spliced the DNA of a woolly mammoth into the genome of its closest living relative, the Asian elephant, using CRISPR.

This was a great first step in his mission, but there are still many more challenges to be overcome.

And still what we would have in the end would be a hybrid of mammoth and elephant. But hey, that’s our best chance and attempt at resurrection of mammoths so far!
