Tata Electronics Partners with Synopsys for Dholera Semiconductor Plant

Tata Electronics announced on Tuesday a memorandum of understanding with US-based IT firm Synopsys for collaborative efforts on process technology and foundry design platforms at its upcoming semiconductor plant in Dholera, Gujarat.

The semiconductor wafer fabrication facility in Dholera represents a significant investment of Rs 91,000 crore by Tata Electronics.

Randhir Thakur, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Electronics, emphasized Synopsys’ pivotal role as a strategic partner, leveraging their expertise in semiconductor design and services to accelerate Tata Electronics’ growth trajectory.

Under the agreement, Tata Electronics and Synopsys will focus on implementing advanced factory automation and yield data analytics solutions. They aim to establish an AI-enabled fab and deploy TCAD (Technology Computer Aided Design) flow to facilitate precise technology transfers. Additionally, the collaboration will encompass process design kits, design enablement, IP development, and methodologies for design technology co-optimization.

The partnership underscores Tata Electronics’ commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technologies to bolster India‘s semiconductor manufacturing capabilities, in line with global standards and industry best practices.
