“We first make our habits, and then our habits make us” rightly quoted by John Dryden. Habits are a crucial routine of our everyday lives. A habit makes a person. You have to learn good habits from a young age because these habits helped you to develop as you grow older  and will define you.

There are numerous books about building good habits and breaking bad ones too. The life you are living today is the result of your daily habits. Are you obsessed with fitness, so you work out every day, and the workouts you have been doing so far have shown you great results? It is all a result of your habits.

A lot of books or ted talks will even teach you how to form good habits. It is crucial that your personality, beliefs, and what you repeatedly do ultimately develop you as a person.

Good habits are important; some of the importance are mentioned below:

  1. Shapes your life
  2. Personal effectiveness
  3. Foundation for a better future
  4. Motivation can be replaced with habits.
  5. Defines you
  6. It makes you an organized person.
  7. Working towards your goal
  8. Habits are compelling

Do you choose urgent works over important, or is it vice versa? Let me tell you something interesting; a habit can make you a billionaire! Did I get your attention?

Let’s move ahead with it then;

“In the long term, your habits will decide your future,” Rafael Badziag, an entrepreneur and pro in the psychology of entrepreneurship, wrote in his book “The Billion Dollar Secret: 20 Principles of Billionaire Wealth and Success.”

Badziag gave his 5 years conducting a conduction interview with 21-self-made entrepreneurs worldwide and found out six habits every day with everyone.

These six habits are:

Billionaires wake up early.

As simple as it sounds, waking up early every day is a difficult task. Badziag found out that on average, these 21 billionaires got up at 5.30 am, which makes them more creative and energetic, he said.

Waking up early leads to a well-rested, stress-free, and organized you. As the saying goes, “The early bird catches the worm,” which means waking up early and working will help you succeed.

There are indeed a lot of benefits if you wake up early. Read some of the benefits below:

  • It helps you stay focused throughout the entire day.
  • It helps your skin look healthy.
  • Better concentration
  • It boosts your productivity.
  • You get more time

There are no disadvantages if you wake up early, only if you sleep very late will it affect your health. Try getting up early for a week, it will eventually be a habit, and you will see a difference in productivity, attitude, and energy levels.

  1. Billionaires keep healthy

Every billionaire he interviewed had a strict diet and workout routine despite their age. The well-known investor Lirio Parisotto told Badziag he hits the treadmill three times a week. Playing sports had benefited a lot in their business. Sports give you essential energy and mental strength, help you think, make you disciplined and strong, and build the will to succeed. They also teach you collaboration, how to win and lose, and humility, he said.

The billionaires mediated and didn’t smoke. The mediation gives one better control over their emotions, and for smoking, there are no benefits of smoking? There are so many disadvantages.

Even other successful people claim that they exercise every day. Exercise has a lot of advantages, which includes:

  • Improves stamina
  • Boosts energy
  • Improves mental health
  • Combats some of the diseases
  • Remains active the whole day

There is no end so let me stop here. Try exercising and feel yourself getting happier each time.

Billionaires read

Along with exercise, reading books is the one activity billionaires spend time on regularly, Badziag said.

Their book preferences were different. Despite this, they only read books they find value in. Badziag also suggests to read; one should keep the titles of a book and read it every day and form a habit of reading.

Reading improves brain connectivity and also increases your vocabulary. Do you struggle to find words for expressing yourself? It is because you lack vocabulary, and terminology can be increased through reading.

If you don’t have a reading habit, then directly reading value-based books can be a total turn-off. Try to find a book that catches your attention; then you’ll discover the genres you are interested in. This is one way you can develop a habit of reading.

Billionaires Contemplate

According to Badzaig, billionaires take time alone to think. They either do it while meditating or while playing sports.

Contemplation is a habit of many billionaire. Thomas C. Corley, the author of “Change Your Habits, Change Your Life,” spent his five years exploring the daily habits of 177 self-made millionaires and found they think more, which is key to their success.

Contemplation calms your mind and spirit. It helps you to focus correctly and also generate new ideas. It helps you give space to yourself and reflect on your life and the world around you.

Billionaires develop routines and rituals.

Habits are easier to maintain with routines and rituals. Badzaig found out that a morning routine is essential for long term success in business. He found out that almost all the billionaires he interviewed followed their morning routines religiously.

The billionaires have a standard time to enter their office as well. The morning routine they followed involved all the other four habits as well.

When one follows their routine rigorously, then they don’t even feel it is a burden once it a habit. The initial stage will be difficult; after that, it will be like getting up and brushing your teeth.

Billionaires practice discipline

“The billionaires I interviewed are the most disciplined people I have ever met,” Badziag wrote. “They put a high standard on themselves and the people around them.” Discipline directly reflects your personality. It provides people with rules to live their lives efficiently and effectively.

Conclusion

Billionaires are human too. They are not always perfect; they do have their share of struggles for keeping up every day, but despite everything to reach this level, you cannot slack off and procrastinate every day. You need to pick yourself up, be responsible and motivated, and focus on developing good habits every day especially these six habbits.
