MeitY to Host Global IndiaAI Summit

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) will host the Global IndiaAI Summit in New Delhi on July 3-4. This event aims to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange, underscoring India’s commitment to ethical and inclusive AI development.

The summit will serve as a platform for international AI experts from various sectors, including science, industry, civil society, governments, international organizations, and academia, to share insights on critical AI issues and challenges, MeitY stated. Key focus areas will include compute capacity, foundational models, datasets, application development, future skills, startup financing, and safe AI.

The Global IndiaAI Summit 2024 aspires to position India as a global leader in AI innovation. The event aims to ensure equitable access to AI benefits and promote socio-economic development nationwide. Additionally, India will host member countries and experts to advance the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI)’s commitment to safe, secure, and trustworthy AI.

This summit follows the recent review of the INR 10,372 Cr India AI Mission, where the Centre assessed the progress and fine-tuned various aspects of the program.
