Cogniquest, an AI startup focused on extracting actionable insights from complex documents, has successfully raised seed funding from Cedar-IBSi Capital and over 25 Indian angel investors.
The investment round includes notable participants such as QuantGro co-founder Dhiraj Sinha, former Infosys executives Umashankar Malapaka and Visveswara Gupta, ex-Accenture India managing director Rajesh Bhat, and others.
Founded in 2022 by Satish Grampurohit and Girish Kerodi, Cogniquest has developed a context-aware AI platform designed to capture key data points and generate actionable insights from diverse information repositories. The company claims its technology offers 200 times faster document processing and has already attracted clients like IT giants Infosys and Tech Mahindra.
The newly acquired funds will be used to scale up technology development, expand use cases, and strengthen the team. Kerodi highlighted that the investment from Cedar-IBSi Capital will enable the company to develop deep-domain vertical solutions, particularly for the finance and banking sectors. However, specific details about the funding amount and post-money valuation were not disclosed.
Grampurohit expressed enthusiasm about the milestone, stating that the support from Cedar-IBSi Capital and esteemed angel investors positions Cogniquest for growth. The funding aligns with a broader trend in the Indian startup ecosystem, where AI-driven solutions are increasingly capturing investor interest across various sectors.
This investment follows Cedar-IBSi Capital’s recent first close of its INR 240 crore fintech fund in March, with plans to invest INR 10-15 crore in 15 early-stage fintech startups. The firm is keen to support disruptive AI-enabled platforms like Cogniquest, which focus on refining and validating data from unstructured documents.
The surge in AI investments reflects the growing adoption of the technology across industries, with startups such as Gnani.ai, Vitra.ai, and Pintel.ai also securing significant funding in recent months.
