Biryani By Kilo (BBK), a leading cloud kitchen startup, has raised ₹16.5 crore (approximately $2 million) in funding from Dubai-based investment firm Pulsar Capital, according to regulatory filings. This funding values the startup at $100 million and is reportedly part of a larger ongoing funding round.

This latest investment marks another milestone for the Delhi NCR-based startup, which specializes in delivering fresh, hand-cooked biryanis across multiple Indian cities. The round follows a $9 million raise last year from existing investors.

Although BBK cofounder and CEO Vishal Jindal declined to comment on specifics, the strategic funding is expected to bolster the company’s plans for expansion, menu innovation, and further strengthening its operational efficiency.

Pulsar Capital, a private equity firm run by Vish Nair, a former partner at TPG, has made strategic investments in companies like TruDoc (a healthcare provider) and Assidus (an e-commerce enabler). The firm’s interest in BBK underscores the growing global confidence in India’s cloud kitchen and food delivery sector.

With a surge in demand for curated food experiences, cloud kitchens like BBK have gained significant traction. Valued for their operational efficiency and scalable models, these businesses cater to a tech-savvy, convenience-seeking customer base.

BBK’s success story highlights the potential of niche food delivery startups, positioning it as a strong contender in the competitive market dominated by aggregators like Swiggy and Zomato.
