  • Beyond Snack raises ₹71.3 crore in Series A led by 12 Flags Group to expand.

  • Targets ₹100 crore sales by FY25, aiming to innovate and dominate the banana chip industry.

Beyond Snack, a banana chip company with its headquarters in Kerala, raised $8.3 million (about ₹71.3 crore) in its Series A fundraising round, which was led by the consumer business-focused fund 12 Flags Group. The firm intends to use the additional funding to expand its nationwide footprint, fortify its supply chain, and spur product development.

FAAD Network, Japanese VC firm Enrission India Capital, and current investors NAB Ventures also participated in the round.

Founded by Manas Madhu and added Jyoti Rajguru and Gautam Raghuraman as cofounders in 2020, Beyond Snack sells crispy banana chips and bills itself as the best-selling “emerging snack brand” on online marketplaces such as Amazon, Flipkart, and BigBasket. Additionally, 20K physical retail locations including DMart and Reliance shops sell its products, as do Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart.

Manas Madhu stated, “Banana chips have often been underrated due to lack of innovation and right technology. Hence we decided to drive that innovation and bring the latest technology in banana chips.”

The banana chips produced by Beyond Snack are prepared with freshly harvested Nendran bananas, which are a staple in Kerala and have numerous health advantages. Farmers provide these bananas directly, and instead of frying them for 15 to 20 minutes, the chips are made in less than two minutes to preserve all of the natural nutrients.

In 18 cities, mostly in west and north India, the D2C brand is now well-known. It serves clients in 12 other nations in addition to India, including the US, the UAE, Australia, Sweden, Qatar, Nepal, Singapore, and Mauritius.

With a target sales of ₹100 crore by FY25, Beyond Snack hopes to overtake Lays in the banana chip industry.
