Validus Fintech Secures Seed Funding for Expansion of Digital Investment Solutions

Hyderabad-based fintech startup Validus Fintech Services Pvt Ltd has successfully raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from AUM Ventures and a consortium of strategic investors. The startup plans to utilize the new capital for product development and business expansion.

Founded in 2021 by Ganesh Venkatachalam and Suram Mukkavilli, Validus provides a suite of digital services tailored for the alternate investment management industry, mutual funds, and pension and retirement solutions. According to the company’s website, Validus also offers comprehensive services such as digital onboarding of investors, transaction reporting, and investor relations.

“Our platform is crafted to revolutionize the investment landscape by fostering a banking-like ecosystem within the mutual fund and investment management industry and advancing user experience through innovative technology,” said Venkatachalam.

This funding arrives at a dynamic time for India’s fintech sector, which has been buzzing with activity in terms of funding and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Notable developments in the sector include:

  • Care.fi: The healthcare-focused fintech startup recently secured $2.6 million (around INR 21 crore) in debt funding from Trifecta Capital and UC Inclusive Credit for business expansion and talent acquisition.
  • FREED: In March, this fintech startup raised INR 60 crore ($7.5 million) in its Series A funding round led by Sorin Investments and Multiply Ventures to expand its reach and improve its technology.
  • ANQ Finance: Backed by Kunal Shah, this digital banking platform acquired healthcare-focused lending startup Kiwimoney for an undisclosed amount in December of last year.
  • BharatX: Recently acquihired Zenifi for an undisclosed sum to venture into the healthcare lending space.

According to an Inc42 report, the lending space within the fintech ecosystem stood at more than $270 million in FY22, making it the fastest-growing segment.
