Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a new benchmark on social media after his Instagram Reel on the government’s anti-paper leak initiatives reportedly became the most-viewed Reel on the platform within 24 hours. According to the announced figures, the video crossed 303 million views in a single day, surpassing the previous record of 300 million views.
The record-breaking Reel, shared on Thursday night, focused on the Centre’s proposed measures to curb examination paper leaks and strengthen the examination system amid nationwide discussions surrounding competitive exam irregularities. Besides attracting hundreds of millions of views, the post also garnered over 16 million likes, around 1.5 million comments, and nearly one million new followers for the Prime Minister’s Instagram account within a day.
The previous benchmark was reportedly held by internet personality IShowSpeed, whose Reel featuring a meeting with BTS during the FIFA World Cup had crossed 300 million views.
A day later, Prime Minister Modi shared another video thanking young people for engaging with his message. He said, “Thank you, friends. I had the opportunity to meet you late last night. I appreciate the way you responded to my video and your positive suggestions. Thanks to everyone.”
He further added, “Last night, I got the opportunity to interact with you. The way you responded to the video I posted and shared your positive suggestions thanks to everybody. Your love and support continue, and our connection grows even stronger and more active.”
