ParkMate, a car parking solutions provider, has successfully raised $1.2 million in a new funding round led by early-stage venture fund Cactus Partners. This round also saw participation from existing investors such as Venture Catalysts and Marwah Group Family Office.
The company intends to utilize the funds to accelerate its growth, expand its team, streamline operations, and continue innovating its smart parking solutions to cater to a larger market.
Founded by Dhananjaya Bharadwaj, ParkMate specializes in offering smart parking solutions tailored to shopping malls, office complexes, and hotels within the corporate sector, as well as for government parking spaces. One of the company’s standout features is its DaSH (Drop & Shop) service, which promises to park cars in under 2 minutes for owners visiting shopping malls and business complexes. Notable clients include DLF, Phoenix Mills, Fun Republic, and various state governments in UP and Telangana.
The startup’s offerings align well with the smart city initiatives, which represent a significant growth opportunity for the company.
ParkMate competes with several players in the smart parking industry, including Park+, Get My Parking, Park Smart, and Parky. Among these competitors, Park+ is the largest player in the sector. Recently, Park+ expanded into the on-demand driver services segment with Drive+, which directly competes with companies like DriveU, Drivers4Me, and PickMyCar.
This funding round marks the eighth investment by Cactus Partners since January 2021. The firm has previously backed successful startups like Lohum Cleantech, Kapture CX, Vitraya Technologies, AMPM Fashions, and Rubix Data Sciences (which has since exited).
