Swiggy Instamart has appointed Kanika Tiwari as its new Head of Monetization, marking a significant step in its growth strategy. Tiwari joins Swiggy from Flipkart, where she spent over eight years in leadership roles, including Director of Strategy and Growth at Flipkart Ads.

At Flipkart, Tiwari played a pivotal role in shaping the growth and strategic direction of Flipkart’s advertising division. She previously served as Associate Director of Growth and Partnership within Flipkart Ads, helping drive key initiatives that contributed to the platform’s advertising growth.

In a LinkedIn post, Tiwari expressed her gratitude towards Flipkart, acknowledging the invaluable experience gained during her tenure. “Looking forward to this new chapter and contributing to Swiggy’s success,” she shared, signaling her excitement about her role at Swiggy.

The hiring of Tiwari follows a series of leadership appointments at Swiggy. Recently, the company appointed Supriya Shankar as Vice President of Events and Experience, who previously led growth and expansion at Lenskart. Additionally, Shalabh Shrivastava joined as Senior Vice President of the Driver Organisation, and Hari Kumar G was named Senior Vice President and Chief Business Officer for Swiggy Instamart. These strategic hires are aimed at driving growth across Swiggy’s key verticals.

The announcement comes shortly after Swiggy made a successful debut on the stock market, with shares opening at Rs 420 on the NSE, a notable 8% premium over the IPO price of Rs 390. The IPO was oversubscribed 3.59 times, with strong interest from institutional investors.

Swiggy plans to use the funds raised from the IPO to invest in its subsidiary Scootsy, clear existing debt, expand its dark store network, and enhance its technology and branding initiatives.

With the addition of Kanika Tiwari and other senior leaders, Swiggy is well-positioned to further accelerate growth in its Instamart segment and expand its market leadership in the rapidly evolving e-commerce space.
