Chandigarh-based health-tech platform Viraa Care has successfully raised $108,000 in a pre-seed funding round from a consortium of European angel investors. This funding adds to an earlier $100,000 raised in the same round in January 2024, underscoring the growing interest in the startup’s innovative approach to infant and pediatric nutrition.
Co-founded in 2023 by Sonal Babbar-Bhardwaj and Mayank Bhardwaj, Viraa Care is dedicated to empowering parents with knowledge about infant nutrition. The platform provides a variety of online courses that cover essential topics such as breastfeeding, bottle feeding, the introduction of real foods, nutrition management, and strategies for addressing picky eating habits. Viraa Care‘s mission is to help families move away from processed baby products that often contain preservatives and artificial additives, emphasizing the importance of fresh, nutrient-dense foods.
The startup offers two main programs: one-on-one consultations and live courses. The one-on-one program spans three months, providing personalized guidance through individual sessions with nutrition experts. Parents receive tailored support on breastfeeding, introducing solids, and baby nutrition, ensuring they have the tools needed for their child’s dietary success. The live courses, structured around five comprehensive modules, include recorded lessons complemented by interactive sessions, allowing parents to engage directly with experts and address their specific concerns.
Since its inception, Viraa Care has made a significant impact, supporting over 500 families across the US and India. The platform has conducted more than 500 sessions, demonstrating impressive growth with a 2x month-on-month increase in its customer base. With the recent funding, Viraa Care aims to enhance its platform further, providing customized nutrition advice and introducing new workshops that cover essential parenting topics, including breastfeeding, infant nutrition, and overall child development.
The funding will primarily be directed toward the startup’s international expansion efforts, enabling Viraa Care to reach a broader audience and enhance its offerings for parents seeking reliable guidance in nurturing their infants.
