Hyperlocal ecommerce platform, magicpin, has cut its platform charges to just Rs 5 per delivery. This reduction came when about two weeks ago, Zomato and Swiggy increased their delivery platform costs by up to 67%.

Magicpin’s founder and CEO, Anshoo Sharma, shared the news of this price cut on social media platform X.

He posted, “We can find a balance towards the welfare of our delivery heroes and our customers during festive seasons. Hence, here is a magicpin promise to let more people enjoy the festive season. magicpin’s platform fees slashed by 50% of competition to Rs 5 only for the rest of the year.”

He also shared that there would be no increase in delivery platform fees for the rest of the year 2024.

Zomato has hiked its delivery platform fee from Rs 7 to Rs 10, which customers will now have to pay in addition to the delivery charge for each order.

Swiggy also adjusted its delivery platform fee to Rs 10 from the previous rate of Rs 6.

Before the festive season of Diwali, magicpin was charging a delivery platform fee of Rs 7, which it has now reduced by 29%, leading to a subtle increase in orders compared to the previous year.

“This Diwali, we went against the current trend and took some hard platform pricing decisions. Result: More than Half a Million orders, Love and Support received during the long festive weekend! This is 2X of what we did last year,” Sharma posted on X.
