The legal tech startup jhana.ai has raised $1.6 million in its first investment round, headed by Girish Mathrubootham, cofounder of Freshworks, and his venture capital firm Together Fund. The new funding will be used to create AI models and private databases. Additionally, some of the money will be used to pay researchers in AI and law.
Angel investor Shyamal Anadkat, former VMWare executive Scott Davis, co-founders of Razorpay, Harshil Mathur and Shashank Kumar, Kunal Shah of CRED, and angel investors Cory Levy and Ojas Shukla also participated in the round.
The Bengaluru-based legal-tech startup jhana.ai was founded in 2022 by Em McGlone, Hemanth Bharatha Chakravarthy, and Benjamin Hoffner-Brodsky. The firm provides Indian attorneys and law firms with an AI-powered tool for legal research and drafting.
