At the 27th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG), the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) won the Gold Award in the “Application of Emerging Technologies for Providing Citizen-Centric Services” category.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry stated that ONDC, developed by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is a pillar of India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI).
ONDC, which has over 6 lakh sellers throughout India and processes over 12 million orders every month enables artisans, female entrepreneurs, farmers, and street vendors to guarantee that customers receive multiple options in an affordable price range.
The award aims to honor and promote excellence in e-government initiative implementation and foster innovation in effective e-government solutions. As the honorable chief minister of Maharashtra Mr. Eknath Shinde states “e-Governance is a mode to change our mindset. With e-Governance comes transparency that enhances the trust of citizens in the government”.
Along with this, several other cutting-edge digital governance projects received recognition as well.
