Pune-based drone startup DroneAcharya Aerial Innovations has received approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to open its fifth Remote Pilot Training Organization ( Remote Pilot ) in Dharwad, Karnataka. This expansion marks a significant step for DroneAcharya in enhancing drone training capabilities across the region.
In November last year, DroneAcharya secured a contract worth INR 96 Lakh to provide drone training to 240 officials from the Karnataka Forest Department. The new training centre in Dharwad will be primarily used to fulfill this contract.
“The RPTO will train 240 officials of the Karnataka Forest Department in DGCA-certified drone piloting and the applications of drones in forestry and surveillance,” the startup announced. Additionally, the centre will not be limited to forest department officials but will also offer training for civilians interested in drone technology and its applications.
The new RPTO in Dharwad aims to deliver comprehensive training programs that include both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in drone operation. The training will cover various aspects of drone piloting, including safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and practical applications in forestry and surveillance.
DroneAcharya’s expansion into Karnataka reflects the growing demand for skilled drone pilots in various sectors. By establishing the fifth RPTO in Dharwad, the startup is positioning itself to meet the increasing need for certified drone operators, both within governmental departments and the general public.
