Social media company Meta has now expanded its “Meta Verified” service in India to Facebook and Instagram after the initial launch for WhatsApp Business users in the country in June.
The “blue tick” offered with the subscription plan provides brand credibility, along with impersonation protection, advanced account support and other enhanced features to grow the account.
The plan is set to have a four-tiered subscription slab – Standard, Plus, Premium, and Max with a price range of Rs 639 monthly for one app and Rs 30,000 monthly for two apps. Naturally, with the increase in levels and prices, the support features for businesses also advance. Indian businesses can purchase and avail these plans on iOS or Android only. They can opt for single-app verification or a package for the duo of Instagram and Facebook.
On Friday, July 19, Meta announced an introductory subscriptions offer through which the users can avail the top-tier Meta Verified membership for Instagram & Facebook at Rs 21,000 per month for the first year. After the end of the duration, the new monthly rates for two apps will be Rs 30,000.
The Meta Verified program has been expanding regionally on a global level, first launched in 2023 for creators in Australia and New Zealand, and later on for businesses first in New Zealand. The firm went on to expand the plan for businesses in Australia and Canada in the following month.
Only last month, the social media major launched the service with a monthly price range of Rs 1,240-Rs 9,940 for WhatsApp business users in India. In the same month, Meta piloted its AI assistant for WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger and Instagram users in the country. Meta finds in India its largest user base with over 378 million Facebook users, 478 million users of WhatsApp, and 262 million Instagram users.
