Winzo Announces Collaboration with FGV EAESP to Expand in Latin America

India’s gaming platform Winzo on Thursday announced its partnership with Brazil-based educational institution Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV EAESP), intending to expand in the region through research initiatives and provide career opportunities for the latter’s students.

In October 2023, the platform marked its launch in Brazil as it is the fourth largest gaming market globally with over 90 million users. The collaboration is valuable to Winzo’s global expansion strategy. Additionally, this move should ensure Winzo hires talented individuals familiar with the local market, expand its operations through cultural integration, and align with the gaming platform’s commitment to invest $50 million in the region of Latin America.

Paavan Nanda, Co-founder of Winzo commented upon the collaboration, “The India Pavilion at Gamescom Latam showcases the rich talent of Indian game developers on a global stage, highlighting our tech prowess and facilitating strategic dialogues between India and Brazil, supporting the development of sunrise industries like gaming. By fostering these connections, we aim to bolster trade and contribute to the growth of both nations’ digital economies.”

Umesh Mukhi, professor of Management at FGV, shared that FGV students are set to benefit from the partnership as the move would facilitate a global dialogue on technological innovation and cultural exchange.

Suresh K Reddy, India’s Ambassador to Brazil, also made remarks on Winzo and FGV joining hands, stating that the long-standing relationship between India and Brazil would be strengthened by this partnership and help build a future of mutual prosperity through cultural and technological exchange in the gaming sector.
