In a significant move aimed at bolstering Karnataka’s industrial and infrastructural landscape, MB Patil, the Hon’ble Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, Government of Karnataka, conducted strategic meetings with Toyota Motor and Aoyama Seisakusho during his visit to Japan.
Minister MB Patil highlighted the meetings’ pivotal role in fostering industrial growth and enhancing international partnerships, underscoring Karnataka’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for global investors. Accompanying him were Selvakumar S, IAS, Principal Secretary of the Department of Commerce and Industries, and Gunjan Krishna, IAS, Commissioner for Industrial Development and Director of the Department of Commerce and Industries.
Discussions with Toyota Motor, represented by key executives including Takao Aiba and Santoshi Yamaguchi, focused on the burgeoning Indian auto market and Toyota Kirloskar Motors’ (TKM) operations in Karnataka. Toyota expressed appreciation for the state government’s support and discussed their plans for carbon neutrality by 2050, emphasizing investments in electric vehicle (EV) technology and biofuels, leveraging Karnataka’s resources.
Meanwhile, Aoyama Seisakusho, a prominent supplier to Toyota, recognized Karnataka as an attractive investment destination and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government to establish a manufacturing facility in Tumakuru’s Japanese Industrial Township. The MoU outlines the setup of a facility on a 20-acre plot, underscoring Karnataka’s proactive stance in promoting industrial growth and supporting international collaborations.
The discussions also highlighted Karnataka’s incentives under the E-Mobility policy, aimed at fostering the clean mobility sector with capital subsidies and Production Linked Incentives (PLI), reinforcing the state’s appeal as a lucrative destination for automotive and EV industries.
Minister MB Patil’s visit underscores Karnataka’s strategic efforts to boost industrial expansion through international partnerships, positioning the state as a key hub for future investments in technology and automotive manufacturing.
