Reliance Jio Appoints Sidharth Kedia as SVP & Head of JioGames

Reliance Jio has appointed Sidharth Kedia, former CEO of Nazara-backed Nodwin Gaming, as Senior Vice President and Head of JioGames.

Kedia, who has a decade-long history with Reliance, expressed his excitement about rejoining the RIL family, “I feel pretty stoked to be called back in the RIL family and be entrusted with the opportunity to scale JioGames and build a gaming behemoth that India awaits.” His appointment, effective from June, marks a significant step in scaling up JioGames’ business.

Kedia previously joined Reliance’s media business nearly a decade ago, coinciding with the final stages of Reliance Jio’s development. Reflecting on Jio’s impact, he noted, “Over the last decade, D2C businesses focused on lifestyle, social, and entertainment have been the biggest beneficiaries of internet democratization by Jio. In fact, they exist today because Jio changed the way India accessed data.”

JioGames, which aims to become a major player in the gaming industry, secured a 10-year strategic partnership with French cloud gaming services firm Gamestream last year. Gamestream, whose partners include Ubisoft, provides white-label cloud gaming solutions. This partnership is expected to enhance JioGamesCloud, Jio’s cloud gaming platform.

JioGamesCloud offers an extensive catalog of games, ranging from high-end AAA titles to hyper-casual games, catering to various genres and age groups. Cloud gaming allows users to play and experience games on personal computers, smartphones, tablets, TVs, or mobile browsers without needing to download the games locally.
