In the event that Jio Financial Services and Zomato are not incorporated into the F&O segment, JM Financial predicts that Trent and Bharat Electronics will be added to the Nifty, with LTI Mindtree and Divis Laboratories likely to be excluded.
The rebalancing of the NSE Indices is set to be announced in August and will take effect in September. This process evaluates the average free-float market capitalization from February 1 to July 31 to determine the adjustments for September.
Interestingly, Jio Financial Services and Zomato boast a higher average free-float market capitalization compared to Trent and Bharat Electronics, bolstering their potential inclusion.
Analysts have estimated that approximately 25 stocks could be excluded from the F&O segment, while around 78 stocks might be added, based on the proposed changes in eligibility criteria.
Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has proposed adjustments that involve higher thresholds for order size and market-wide position limits. Additionally, a Product Success Framework will be introduced for single-stock derivatives after six months.
Nuvama Alternative & Quantitative Research has identified 78 potential stocks for inclusion in the F&O segment, featuring prominent names such as Zomato, YES Bank, Jio Financial Services, NHPC, and Adani Green, among others.
These anticipated changes reflect a significant reshuffling within the market, underscoring the evolving landscape of the NSE Indices and the strategic adjustments by key players to optimize their market positioning.
