Did you know that there are various hidden Facebook features which we overlook? Facebook has faced all kinds of lawsuits in the last few years.
Even after all this, it still continues to be one of the most sought after social media tools. Facebook is very similar to Instagram and other popular social forums.
We generally use it to stay connected with our friends and post what’s happening in our lives.
We normally don’t use its exclusive features in our daily lives. But knowing these cool hidden Facebook features will help you stay ahead of your competition.
1. The Hidden Inbox
If you are new to Facebook, this one’s for you. There is a separate inbox named “Message Requests”.
The messages stored here do not pop up in your notifications. This is because you are not currently friends with the people who send them.
But once in a while, you have to check this inbox to know if someone important has sent you a text.
This might be from a person who is important to you but just wants to check if it is really you before they send you a friend request.
2. History Of Your Friend Requests
You will gradually forget all the people to whom you have sent a friend request. But Facebook has your back.
It has an entire archive dedicated to this. To see this, get into your Friend Request section.
You will find an option named “See All” at the end of all the suggested friends. Here you will have to click on “View Sent Requests”.
You can find every friend request which you have ever sent using this.
3. Restrict Certain People
If you are a teenager, then you probably do not want your aunt and uncle to spy on you. There is a feature dedicated to fixing this issue.
Type in the username of the friend whom you want to restrict in the search bar. In his/her account, you will see your friendship status.
Click on it and you will find a dropbox. There you can find the “Restrict”. Once you click this, they will not be able to see your posts anymore.
4. Save Posts To See Them Later
We are not always free while we browse our newsfeed. If you find yourself busy and want to save a post to read it later, you can do it.
Click on the three dots which you will find at the top right corner of any post. You will find the save option in the dropbox which follows. You can now find this post in your “Saved” folder.
5. Keep A Track Of Your Usage
Let’s face it, we always overuse Facebook and lose track of time. If this sounds like you, this hidden facebook feature will save your day.
Navigate to the Settings and Privacy in your Facebook account. There is an option titled “Your Time on Facebook”.
You will find a clear graphical view of the number of hours you spend on Facebook each day.
6. Fortify Your Security
We live in an age where no matter how much effort you put in, someone will always know your passwords.
Your typical facebook passwords are no match to a friend who knows your exact password. To double your security, go ahead and enable the two-factor authentication in the privacy and security tab.
You can also enable a feature which will notify you about every login activity.
In case if you forget your password, you can provide two or three of your most trusted contacts who will help you in your account recovery.
7. Transfer Files
You can use Facebook’s messenger to ease out the process of the file transfer. Log in to your messenger and you will be able to find a pin-shaped icon.
Once you press this you can send any file from your computer. Your friend on the opposite side can click on the link and download the files which you have attached.
It is vital that you know there are a lot of hackers waiting for their chance to steal your account. It is your job to make their job difficult.
You must also make sure that these hackers might make use of several of these exclusive features.
For example, you might receive a malicious file from an unknown user. Once you click this, your account becomes vulnerable. Stay educated and stay sharp.
