The year 2020 bought the astronomers a mysterious thing to ponder upon. Radio burst hit space, not once but two times.
The first radio burst- FRB 121102 was in February. The second radio burst took place in June following the same pattern as the previous radio burst.
The FRBs repeating themselves in less than a year time has become the centre of attention for the astronomers and space researchers.
What are the FRBs?
FRBs are the radio pulses originated as a result of the astrophysical processes going on in the space. They hit the space frequently as a result of the blasting process.
They hit the space from some galaxy situated far light years away from the place of incidence. Some are very minute to be noticeable and others are well seen.
The FRBs hit the space in every 157 days so was in the case of these radio burst first in February and then in June.
FRB showed a sudden discernible repeat
For the first 60 days, there are no chances of any radio flare. But soon after the 60 days, the process starts repeating itself.
The astronomers say that there was no hope or chance for the FRB of Dwarf Galaxy to rise again and send radio flares. But it sent radio flare in space right after 157 days.
These Radio pulses are of different lengths each of a few milliseconds. They have as much power as millions of suns combined together.
Astronomers in amazement as radio burst hit space
The radio bursts incident is very mysterious for the astronomers. It is hard to find the reason for the occurrence of such a phenomenon.
The very close reason for this is the collision of Neutron star –Magnetar with the black hole. The collision could have led the radio pulses to strike with other elements in the space.
The researchers have found out 32 bursts till now in the period of the 90 days. The bursts resemble the pattern of the February first radio burst. It gives the implications that they are from a common origin.
The later radio bursts of June 2020 give cues about the Neutron star which gave rise to the radio flares.
It could be the one having a high magnetic field which moves the object with it at a high speed and throws it in the space.
The keen observation towards FRB 121102 facts can help the astronomers to find the root cause of the radio burst hit space phenomena.
