So finally, this has happened! The one looking forward to conquering Mars first had to conquer the Earth. Yes, this is an extravagant reference to none other than Elon Musk.
Tesla CEO and founder of SpaceX has beaten Jeff Bezos to become the world’s richest person with a net worth of $188.5 billion.
Tesla’s wealth alone is equal to the combined wealth of the nine largest car companies.
So this has given rise to an important, curious question: what does Elon Musk plan to do with his wealth? Turns out even he has no idea.
Musk asks for ‘critical feedback’
The sudden increase in his wealth has led Tesla CEO to ask for ‘critical feedback’ on Twitter on how to use his wealth.
Musk tweeted, “Btw, critical feedback is always super appreciated, as well as ways to donate money that really make a difference (way harder than it seems).
But just because he asked for opinions doesn’t mean he hasn’t got some of his own plans. His shared his aims regarding the use of this new big money in another older tweet.
The tweets read, “About half my money is intended to help problems on Earth & half to help establish a self-sustaining city on Mars to ensure the continuation of life (of all species) in case Earth gets hit by a meteor-like the dinosaurs or WW3 happens & we destroy ourselves.”
Many users and fans came up with suggestions about he could use his money. While some came up with the idea of edutainment, others suggested donating Chromebooks to underprivileged children.
Anyway, let’s now have a look at the most possible things that Elon Musk could do with all this wealth!
Ending hunger in the US
With that amount of money, hunger could literally be eradicated from the US, although not from the entire world.
Wish we could say the same about the world as well. But as much as we’d love, it’s impossible even with that great amount of money.
And since Musk himself seems to be leaning towards donations, something along the lines of hunger eradication in the US is possible.
The Mars dream
Mars mission is Elon Musk’s most ambitious dream and something that he is very serious about.
Musk estimated in 2019 that it would take about $100,000 for passengers to visit Mars and $500,000 to start a new life there.
With his current wealth, Musk can sponsor around 377,000 passengers on their visit to Mars.
Musk has already declared several times that he plans to send one million people to Mars by 2050 using a fleet of 1000 starships.
So in conclusion, I will only say that even though there are a lot of possibilities, donations and Mars might be his top priorities. What are your thoughts on it?
Let us know – until next time!
