We are having a launch event of Google on the October 09. And, we are going to see the announcement of the Pixel Slate, which will run Chrome OS. Along with the tablet, we will have stereo speakers, capacitive stylus, detachable keyboard accessory, and last but not the least, a USB Type-C port.
During the company’s October 09 launch event, we will see announcements of many hardware products. Earlier, we had many exclusive renders and leaks of wallpapers of the Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, and images of the Google Home Hub. And now, we have some exclusive images of Google’s upcoming tablet named “Google Pixel Slate”.
Looking at the images of the Pixel Slate, it seems that it is going to run Chrome OS, and have an active capacitive stylus and a detachable keyboard accessory. This is going to be the first tablet by Google which will run Chrome OS. It will feature a slightly different software and UI design. Now, let’s have a look at the design and features of the Pixel Slate.
Google Pixel Slate Features and Design
We have a special codename for the Google Pixel Slate as ‘Nocturne’. It will probably rival Microsoft’s Surface Pro lineup of convertibles as it is going to run Chrome OS. The color option for the Pixel Slate will be dark blue with a capacitive touchscreen and an aspect ratio of around 3:2. We also have a capacitive stylus similar to the one we saw in the last year’s Pixelbook launch.
It seems to have both the rear and the front camera. The rear camera will have the new minimalistic Google logo which we find in its newer products. The device is covered by black areas on both the side which could mean the cellular connectivity, but it is still unclear. The power button appears to be on the top which could even have a built-in fingerprint scanner. On one of the sides of tablet, we get a USB Type-C port, and on the front we have stereo speakers.
The detachable keyboard that we get along with the device will have round-shaped keys and a touchpad. For launching Google Assistant, there’s a shortcut key on the accessory. The top of the accessory will cover the back of the device, and could also be folded. So, the Pixel Slate could also be used as a laptop.
From the above images, the Pixel Slate seems to have a newer version of Chrome OS Software. There’s back button and a centralized icon dock button at the bottom. Ofcourse, it will run Android apps. For CPU, it will likely have an ARM-based mobile processor or a very basic power CPU from Intel. So, that’s all about the Pixel Slate and its design and features.
Launch Of The Google Pixel Slate
The launch of the Pixel Slate is along with that of the Pixel 3, and Pixel 3 XL on October 09 launch event. This launch event is going to be the company’s annual hardware launch event for this year. So, it’s big! We will find the Pixel Slate on sale in about next few weeks in the US. Google is also going to announce a newer version of Chromecast, which will feature Bluetooth connectivity and microphone. Last but not the least, the launch of PixelStand (a wireless charging stand) for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL for super-fast charging
